What to Expect
Visiting a new church can be intimidating. When you visit the Dripping Springs Church of Christ, you will never be asked to stand up, introduce yourself, or do any other activity that makes you feel uncomfortable. We’d just love to have you visit and study with us.
We want you to feel comfortable when you visit us for worship services, so here is a brief summary of what you can expect from a typical service at the Dripping Springs Church of Christ:
- Praying: We are led by different men in our congregation (1 Timothy 2:1-8).
- Singing: The whole congregation joins together in praising God in song without the use of musical instruments (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16). In case anyone is unfamiliar with one of the songs, the words are available in our songbooks and also on a screen in front of the auditorium. Many of our visitors choose to join us in singing, while others prefer simply to listen as we worship.
- Taking Communion: Every Sunday, our members remember Christ’s death by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Acts 20:7). We sit quietly for a few minutes and reflect on how wonderful it is that God loved us enough to give his own Son for us!
- Preaching: We will enjoy a Bible lesson that lasts about 30 minutes (Acts 2:42; Romans 10:14). On most Sundays, our preaching minister presents these lessons, though occasionally a guest speaker will guide our thoughts. Each lesson will take a Bible passage and explain what it means and how it applies to our lives.
- Giving: Each member of this congregation contributes weekly to the work of the church (1 Corinthians 16:2). We do not ask or expect our visitors to give anything in the offering.
Our Bible Classes at 9:30am

Our Worship Services at 10:30am
The center and sole focus of Christian worship is God—the Father, Son, and Spirit (John. 4:24). In worship, we humbly come before the throne of God’s grace and offer the entirety of our heart, soul, mind, and strength to the Creator who willingly and lovingly laid down everything for us at Calvary. We love God fully, and it is within our worship that we hope to show that love to its greatest extent. We pray that our worship is a place where children of God can pour out their hearts on the altar of sacrifice.
A heart full of wonder for our Savior cannot be separated from His word. As we bow our souls to Him, we realize that God does not simply accept any worship that we give; rather He dictates that we word. As we bow our souls to Him, we realize that God does not simply accept any worship that we give; rather He dictates that we come to Him on His terms which are displayed in scripture. Therefore, as his purchased people, we strive to the best of our ability to offer to God “acceptable worship, with reverence and awe” (Hebrews 12:28).
As our guide for worship, we look to Jesus and the word of His covenant, which is seen in the New Testament. There we see the early church partaking of the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26), singing (Ephesians 5:19; Col. 3:16), praying (Acts 2:42), teaching (Acts 20:7; 2 Timothy 4:2) and contributing to the needs of the saints (1 Corinthians16:1-2). As 21st century believers we desire to simply be Christians and Christians only, to go back to the Bible and the Bible alone; therefore we follow the pattern laid out for us in the New Testament.
We hope that you will join us as we gladly rejoice in our God and Savior and “play our hearts out for God” (Ephesians 5:19)!
